Are you exhausted from searching for information about the Global Awareness & Technology Project?  Never fear, the Braddock Eagle Library Blog is here to help!  The first thing is for your team to decide on what GATP topic you are interesting in researching:

Now that your team has chosen a topic and cultures to research, you are ready to embark on The Big6 Research Process.  But don't worry!  The Braddock Eagle has all the resources your team needs to research your GATP questions by using The Big6.  Check out all the great places to search below:

 - all FCPS databases are great resources for research.  Howevere, the two databases below were purchased especially to support the GATP project.  Be sure to check out all the special features! FCPS Databases

• Culture Grams- if you search World Edition be sure and look at the History link on the left.  Kids Edition has a History module that includes helpful timelines.
• Early Peoples - great articles about ancient civilizations and peoples.
• Marshall Cavendish - a wonderful resource with timelines, maps, photographs.  Be sure to browse the Ancient and Medieval Worldcollection and Exploring Ancient Civilizations.

FCPS Library Catalog - the online library catalog allows you to search for materials owned by Braddock ES library and all FCPS libraries.

Google Custom Search Engine-  Braddock Elementary Global Awareness Resources has many wonderful Web sites gathered together in this searchable Bookmarks collection.

Gale Global Awareness Project Resources- eBooks to help with the GATP.  eBooks are books published in electronic form that can be read on a computer via the Internet.  eBooks can be accessed from the FCPS Library Catalog.

Mrs. Foley's Library Lessons- resources are available on the Library Blackboard site.

 

Library Pathfinders - a pathfinder is a tool to help searchers find the information they need. Pathfinders contain helpful resources from the Braddock Elementary Library along with reference databases, and web pages.

Reference Interviews - here are some resources for individual teams to use.  Use the keywords listed to search the FCPS Databases, Google Custom Search Engine, and the FCPS 5th Grade GATP Bookmarks.
